My current practice is exploring the theme: ‘Beyond the ‘fabrica’ – the Human Body in the 21st century’. This investigates interventional surgery’s role to transform the human body enabling it to survive beyond its natural limits. Reference is made to the development of anatomy and the use of dissection, to contemporary medical imaging approaches. I am interested in how our body embraces the new materiality of replacement elements. This is reflected through my use of found organic matter, combined with industrial substances and man-made structures. My work is process led, exploring the fluidity and alchemy of materials and covers printing, painting, sculptures to installations.
